You can apply a percentage or dollar discount to an order by creating a Discount product that specifies the discount amount when added to an order. Depending on the discount type, discounts can apply to an entire order or to individual products. You can also restrict the discount to apply only to certain categories.
To apply a discount in Restaurant POS, the discount must already be created in Restaurant Manager. See Creating discounts for more information.
Apply a discount
- On the Order screen, tap the category that contains the discount you want to apply.
- Tap the discount. The discount is applied based on the Discount Type.
Apply an open discount
- On the Order screen, tap the category that contains the discount that you want to apply.
- Tap the Price button on the shortcuts tab.
- Tap the open discount button within the selected category.
- A pop-up numbers pad will open. Enter the numerical value to be applied on the discount. Tap ok. The discount is applied based on the Discount Type.

| Reduction specific product | Deducts a dollar value from an order item. If the discount is restricted to products in specific categories, the selected product must belong to one of these categories. |

| Reduction Current | Deduct a dollar value from all of the order items currently on the order. The discount is not assigned to products added to the order after you add the discount. If the discount is restricted to products in specific categories, you must add a product that belongs to one of these categories before applying the discount. |
