When creating printer templates, you can make additional modifications to the layout of your receipts and tickets with Advanced Layout Settings. There are four subsections within these settings: Adjust margins, Show/hide, Miscellaneous settings, and Enable/disable. The configurable options in each section will change depending on the type of printer template selected: Receipt, Bar, Kitchen, Email Receipt, or Invoice.

Accessing Advanced Layout Settings
- In Restaurant Manager, select Printers > Printer Templates.
- Add template or select an existing one.
- Scroll down to Advanced Layout Settings.
When adjusting settings, some adjustments will affect the receipt preview. Other adjustments, however, are best seen by printing a test receipt after saving your settings.
Adjust margins
Manually adjust the margins of the selected printer template.

Tip: increase this number to create extra space if your ticket rail/holders cover information on the chit. Right-side of ticket Adjust margin value, automatically set to 0. Bottom of ticket Adjust margin value, automatically set to 100. Left-side of ticket Adjust margin value, automatically set to 0. Use percentage for ticket margins When this option is selected, margin values will be percentages. Add item count bottom margin Adjust margin value, automatically set to 0. Below customer Adjust margin value, automatically set to 0.
Show/hide
Manually adjust what appears on the selected printer template. The customizable options will change depending on the printer type. For Receipt printers, choose to show or hide information from receipts such as price, modifiers, and payment information. For Kitchen or Bar printers, choose whether to display the course name, floor, or server information.

Show sequence number on top Display or hide the sequence number (i.e., the order number) at the top of the receipt. Note: Showing the sequence number on top will also restore the Receipt ID that the sequence number replaces. Show creation date Display or hide the creation date and time of the receipt instead of the current date and time Show creation user Display or hide the creation user instead of the user printing the receipt Show void reason Display or hide the reason for a canceled order. Header of ticket items Display or hide bold text header "# Item" and "Price" for receipt items. Price Display or hide the total unit price. Unit price Display or hide individual unit prices. Modifiers Display or hide modifier items. Modifier group name Display or hide the group name for modifiers. Hide modifier prices Display or hide prices for modifiers. Only show menu name Enable this to show only the combo's name rather than the items contained within it.
Payment information Display or hide how the customer paid. Header of payment information Display or hide the bold text header "Payment" for payment type. Category totals Display or hide the totals for product categories. VAT summary Display or hide the Value-added tax summary. Show total items Display or hide the number of items ordered to display below the total price. Show room and guest name Display or hide the room number or guest name (for use with property management system integrations). Show extra room and signature Display or hide lines for a guest to fill in their room, name, and signature if they have not yet paid when the receipt was printed (for use with property management system integrations). Tip: Enable this option along with Tip line to create more space at the bottom of the receipt.
Hide table name Display or hide the table name from the top of the receipt.

Course name Display or hide the name for coursing (i.e., Starter, Main, Dessert). Show total items Display or hide the number of items ordered. Show room and guest name Display or hide the room number or guest name (for use with property management system integrations).
Top of kitchen/bar chit Display identifying info on top of chit such as Sequence number, Floor, Number of customers, Server, Receipt number, Customer, Date, or Order type (Takeout/Delivery).
Bottom of kitchen/bar chit Display identifying info on top of chit such as Sequence number, Floor, Number of customers, Server, Receipt number, Customer, Date, or Order type (Takeout/Delivery).
Misc. settings
Misc. (Miscellaneous) Settings include various options. For instance, you can change the order in which items are printed on a receipt, and they can be sorted by product name or PLU. You can choose to combine or separate repeat items on a receipt.
If there are multiple Kitchen printer templates at your restaurant (e.g., Hot and Cold kitchen prep stations), you may have selected Notification Templates within the advanced options of product categories. To create a Kitchen Summary printer template, enable Summary notification template on setting so that orders are not duplicated on the Kitchen Summary printer.

Order ticket items by Organize items by name (alphabetical, with menu type first), PLU, modified date, or seat number. "None" is the default setting. Order ticket modifiers by Organize item modifiers by name (alphabetical) or PLU. "None" is the default setting. Combine items Set multiple items to be displayed as separate or combined. Combine items with different modifiers When selected, modifiers will appear on the same line below items. Uncombine items Set items to always be separated, even if the user has inputted the items as combined. Show items on fire ticket When enabled, course items will once again appear (in smaller font) when the course has been fired. Course line width Adjust course line width. Course margin width Adjust course margin width. Margin width between items Select margin width between items. Show course indicators When selected, there will be a line between courses. Summary notification template For use when Notification Templates have been enabled within product categories. Enable/disable
Select which lines are visible or hidden on a printer template. On Receipt templates, you can underline certain numbers or text or add a Tip Line for manually writing the tip amount on a printed receipt. On Kitchen printer templates, enable additional lines to separate information and add clarity to tickets, such as Line between seat numbers.

Line below receipt header Select this option to add a line below receipt header. Line below promotional text Select this option to add a line below promotional text (if promotional text has been entered in template settings). Underline promotional text Select this option to have promotional text underlined. Line below total price Select this option to add a line beneath the total price. Underline greeting Select this option to have the greeting underlined (if a greeting has been entered in template settings). Line below split payments Select this option to have a line below split payment types. Line below VAT Select this option to have the line below Value Added Tax (VAT). Line below category totals Select this option to have a line below item category totals. Line below tips Select this option to have a line below the tip amount when a bill has been paid and payment included a tip. Tip line Select this option to display a line to display for manually adding a Tip Amount on paid receipts once the bill has been printed. Line below suggested tips Select this option to display below the suggested tip % amount (if a suggested tip % has been set within Misc. settings) Add total items subline Select this option for a line to show below total items, if Show total items is enabled within the Show/hide advanced settings.

Line above receipt header Select this option to add a line above the receipt header. Reset sequence number Set sequence number (a number that appears at the top of your receipts representing the order number) to reset after reaching the specified number. The default is 50. Line below receipt header Select this option to add a line above the receipt header. Line below ticket items Select this option to add a line between ticket items and subtotal. Line between seat number Select this option to add between orders with multiple seats.
- Bar and Kitchen template settings
