Hi. How can we help?

Processing Order Anywhere orders

Learn how to process orders placed via Order Anywhere through the Restaurant POS app. This article covers both table and pickup online orders.

Table of contents:

Processing table orders

Table orders are those placed from within your restaurant by scanning the QR code attached to a table. To learn how to set up Table order profiles for Order Anywhere, see Creating profiles.

  1. Customer places a table order. To learn how this works, see How customers use Order Anywhere.
  2. Order appears on the Tables screen for the table where it was placed.

  3. Kitchen and/or bar tickets either automatically print for the order or must be manually printed.
  4. Select the table on the Tables screen to edit or close out the order.
  5. To edit the order, make changes as needed (for example, to add or remove items). To learn more about managing orders at the POS, see our Restaurant POS articles.
Important: Changes made to orders at the POS will not be reflected in Order Anywhere reporting. If an order was paid online by the customer with a debit or credit card and its total changes at the POS, you will either need to manually refund a portion of the order in Stripe (if the total decreases) or accept an in-person payment at the POS for the difference (if the total increases).
  6. To close out the order, tap Pay to accept an in-person payment or to finalize an order paid online by the customer via credit or debit card.

Processing pickup orders

Pickup orders are orders placed by scanning the QR code or visiting the URL for a Pickup profile. To learn how to set up Pickup order profiles for Order Anywhere, see Creating profiles.

  1. Customer places a pickup order. To learn how this works, see How customers use Order Anywhere.
  2. Order appears on the Takeout screen with a badge icon indicating the number of new orders.
Important: Orders scheduled for a future pickup date will appear in the Restaurant POS app immediately after they are placed by the customer. To learn how to view which specific orders are due for future days, see Order reporting for Order Anywhere.

  3. Kitchen and/or bar tickets either automatically print for the order or must be manually printed.
    • If set to automatically accept online orders, tickets will automatically print for the order and the order will appear in the Accepted section of the Takeout screen.
    • If set to manually accept online orders, manually print order tickets by tapping the order in the New section of the Takeout screen and selecting Send. The order will move from the New section to Accepted.
  4. Select the order on the Takeout screen to edit or close it out.

What's next?

  • If the restaurant gets busy and staff cannot keep up, pause incoming orders to prevent customers from ordering. Resume incoming orders to accept orders once again.
  • Edit an Order Anywhere profile, menu, or menu item whenever changes are needed, such as if pricing increases.
  • View reporting on orders placed via Order Anywhere to see a list of all orders and details for individual orders, including their items and totals, from the Order Anywhere Back Office.
