Using tables for takeout and delivery orders

Tables can be used to create new takeout and delivery orders with assigned customers and pick-up times. Designated takeout and delivery tables are required to create takeout and delivery orders (see Creating Tables).

When you tap on a takeout or delivery table, a takeout popup will appear and prompt you to assign a customer and pick-up time to the order. 

If you don't want to be prompted to assign customers or pick-up times to takeout/delivery orders, you can disable the popup in Restaurant Manager by clicking on Settings > App Settings and deselecting Enable takeaway popup.

Multiple takeout and delivery orders can also be quickly and easily created via the Takeout screen.

Using Tables to create takeout and delivery orders with popup enabled

  1. From the Tables screen in Restaurant POS, tap a designated takeout or delivery table.
  2. Select a customer and pick-up time in the popup window. Select an existing customer from the Returning Customer list or create a new one by tapping New CustomerYou can edit an existing customer by tapping Edit.
  3. Add items to the order.
  4. Process the payment as usual. 
  5. Finalize the order.
  6. To view a list of open and previous receipts, tap-and-hold on the takeout/delivery table or tap Takeout in the navigation bar at the bottom of the screen to review orders from the Takeout screen.

Using Tables to create takeout and delivery orders without popup enabled

  1. From the Tables screen in Restaurant POS, tap a designated takeout or delivery table. This will bring you to the Order screen.
  2. To assign a customer or pick-up time to the order, tap Time or Customer Add from the Shortcut bar at the lefthand side of the screen. 
  3. Add items to the order.
  4. Process the payment as usual.
  5. Finalize the order.
  6. To view a list of open and previous receipts, tap-and-hold on the takeout/delivery table or tap Takeout in the navigation bar at the bottom of the screen to go to the Takeout screen.

Note: If you are creating a takeout/delivery order without the popup enabled, you will need to finalize each active takeout/delivery order before starting a new one.
