Once a customer has collected enough points, they can redeem them for rewards. Customers will be notified via text message when there is a reward available to them.

The Rewards section of Lightspeed Loyalty Manager is where you can create rewards and configure details such as how many points are required for a reward and what products the reward can be applied to. Rewards are divided into two categories: point rewards and one-time rewards.

Creating a new points for product reward

A points for product reward requires a customer to redeem a certain number of points to receive a product or a discount on a product as a reward.


  1. In Lightspeed Loyalty Manager, click Rewards > Manage point rewards.
  2. Click the + button beside Add reward.
  3. For the Reward type, select Points for product.
  4. Enter a Reward name.
  5. Optionally, enter a description.
  6. Enter the number of points a customer is required to redeem for this reward.
  7. Limit the reward to a select group of customers by entering them into the Groups field.

Linking products to a point reward

Once the reward is created, it will appear in the list of rewards. The next step is to link products you want the reward to be applied to. You can link multiple products to a reward.


  1. Click the barcode button Barcode.png in the column titled Product IDs to open the Edit Reward's Product IDs popup.
  2. Click Add Product ID.
  3. Enter the Product ID.
  4. For the Type, select either Percentage or Dollars.
  5. For the Amount, enter the percentage or dollar amount discount you want to offer on the product when a customer redeems this reward. If you want the product to be free, enter 100 for the percentage or enter the full amount of the product for the dollar amount.
    Note: A percentage or dollar amount discount on a product will be applied to the total price of the product after tax.
  6. Click Save.
  7. Repeat for each product you want to link to this reward.


Creating a new one-time reward

One-time rewards are limited-time offers. For example, a free dessert on a customer's birthday.


  1. In Lightspeed Loyalty Manager, click Rewards > Manage one-time rewards.
  2. Click the button to open the Add one-time reward popup.
  3. Enter a Reward name. The Reward type is automatically Points for product.
  4. Optionally, enter a description.
  5. For Duration, select the amount of time customers have to claim the reward from the time it is sent to them via text.

Linking products to a one-time reward

Products are linked to one-time rewards the same way as point rewards.

Editing rewards

  • To edit the name, description, points required to redeem, attached groups or linked products, simply double-click on the text field and enter your edits.
  • To enable/disable the reward, click the On/Off toggle button.
  • To delete the reward, click the red X.

Note: Modifiers are included in the reward discount. For example, if the reward is a free product and there are modifiers attached to that product, the modifiers will be free as well. If the reward is 50% off, the modifiers will also be 50% off.
