Redeeming Loyalty rewards

Lightspeed Loyalty allows your customers to use their collected points to redeem rewards that you've preconfigured in the Loyalty Manager (for more information, see Rewards). Points can be redeemed for rewards directly within the Restaurant POS app. Customers will receive a text message when there is a reward available to them.

The Loyalty reward itself appears as a discounted product on receipts and reports, while the Loyalty payment appears as a "Loyalty Account Assigned" payment type on receipts and reports. If a reward is a percentage or dollar amount discount on product, the discount is applied to the total price of the product after tax. 

Please note: if you ever need to void a receipt containing a Loyalty redemption, you will also need to manually re-add the customer's points from Loyalty Manager.

Redeeming points for a reward

  1. Ensure that the reward the customer wants to redeem has been added to the order.
  2. From the Payments screen in Restaurant POS, tap the Loyalty payment type.
  3. The customer can present their Collect Points QR code or select a reward in the app, which generates a corresponding QR code.
  4. Use the iPad camera to scan the QR code. If using the Collect Points QR code, select the desired reward from the list of available rewards.
  5. Tap Done
    Note: Any points owed to the customer from the transaction will automatically be awarded after clicking Done.

NOTE: Once a customer has been linked to a receipt, it is not possible to remove them. In the event of an error, void the receipt and restart the order.   

  1. Ensure that the reward the customer wants to redeem has been added to the order.
  2. From the Payments screen in Restaurant POS, tap the Loyalty payment type.
  3. Tap Use Phone Number in the top-right.
  4. Tap Create for a new customer or Continue for a returning one.
  5. Tap Redeem Reward.
  6. Select the desired reward.
  7. Tap Done
    Note: Any points owed to the customer from the transaction will automatically be awarded after clicking Done.

  4. Select the desired reward from the list of rewards displayed.
  5. Tap Done
