Assigning a login card to a user

Lightspeed no longer sells login cards. Existing login cards will continue to work, but you won't be able to order new cards.

For added security, employees can use personal login cards to access the Restaurant POS app (instead of a password or PIN code). For employees to use this feature at the POS, you first need to assign a login card to each user.

Assign a login card to a user

Important: To use the login cards feature, you must turn on the Enable swipe to login setting within the Restaurant App Settings section of Restaurant Manager.

  1. On the User screen in Restaurant POS, swipe the new login card.
  2. Tap the user you want to assign the login card to.
    Note: Each login card can only be assigned to one user. If a user is removed from your Lightspeed Restaurant account, their login card can't be reused.
