Cash drawers in Lightspeed Restaurant are used to track and report on your cash flow. If the iPad that you're using to process orders is not assigned to a cash drawer that was created in Restaurant Manager, the cash flow is connected to the user who is processing the orders and the cash drawer becomes a virtual one. This is created automatically and is called a user wallet in Lightspeed Restaurant.
The Cash Register Report screen is divided into two sections:
Cash drawer/User wallet reports: Lets you run an end-of-shift (X) or end-of-day (Z) cash drawer/user wallet report. X reports are from the last Z report to the current time, and are generally used at the end of a shift as running an X-report does not reset cash drawer data. Z reports are from the last Z report to the current time, and are generally used at the end of the day as running a Z-report resets all cash-drawer data.
- Cash-in/out list: Shows a list of the amount added and removed from all cash drawers for the specified date range. Final counts are not included in this list.
To access the report
The Cash Register Report is only available in Restaurant Manager.
- In Restaurant Manager, click Reports.
- From the menu on the left, click Cash Register Reports.
To generate reports
- Click a cash drawer or user wallet.
Click the X or Z report option.
X reports are from the last Z report to the current time. Z reports are also from the last Z report to the current time. Running a Z report resets all cash drawer and user wallet data.
To set the date range for the Cash-in/out list
The selected date range applies to the Cash-in/outs list only.
At the top right corner of the screen click the date.
Select a date range by clicking a start and end date, or click Today, This week, or This month.
